Good morning Grown-ups and children! Happy Friday :o)

Junk modelling: I’m sure your junk models are coming on beautifully- have some finishing off time this morning and please share them on Tapestry I would love to see them! Well done if they are all finished!

 

Literacy: This week we have been writing some of our Phase 3 sounds. We practised our beautiful pre-cursive handwriting for y,z,zz and qu. Use your sound mats to look at the letter formation and practise your handwriting. Can you write any words with these sounds in?

IDEAS CORNER: yes, yap, quit, quiz zip, zig, zag…Grown-ups ask your children to write any of these words after practising their lovely letter formation.

Exercise We love our exercise on a Friday, have fun exercising in your favourite way- make sure your heart is beating quickly and remember to drink lots of water :o)

Hopefully everyone has been able to access Documents on Tapestry, please get in touch if you are having any difficulties. Many thanks to Kalea and Mrs Martindale, Theo and Mrs Cryer for helping me iron out a few technical issues yesterday.

Literacy: Today, have fun writing about your favourite toy! Grown-ups please write a couple of lines on a piece of paper (landscape) and support your child to share and write a sentence. We always encourage the children to say words in ‘toy talk’ which is sounding out. Remember your capital letter at the start, finger spaces and beautiful pre-cursive handwriting…don’t forget a lovely picture! 

I have uploaded into our Spring Term 2A week 1 folder, a copy of the sound mats we use in the classroom I hope you find them useful :o)

Literacy: Share some of your favourite nursery rhymes together, can you think of some other words that rhyme?

 

Junk Modelling Plans: Use a piece of paper and a pencil, can you draw a junk model design? Draw what you would like to make using reclaimed materials…bits and bobs out of the recycling and write a title

(IDEAS CORNER:  A robot, a witch, a car, a lorry, a new toy, a fish tank!)

 

What do I need?: This afternoon, have a think about what you might need to make your model. Have a look through your arts and crafts and, with the help of a grown up some recycling materials! When you have chosen your bits and bobs write some labels or a list on your plan.

 

Letter and Sounds: Enjoy revisiting your sounds wallets and singing along with our Tricky Words song! Here is a link to Phase 3 Tricky words, have fun!
