It is with great pleasure that I take this opportunity to introduce you to Thingwall Primary School. Thingwall was opened in 1964 and is a popular, happy school, very much at the heart of the community. We pride ourselves on our positive, caring ethos.
Thingwall is a popular and successful school where every child is given the opportunity to fulfil their potential in a safe, secure, stimulating environment through high quality education in its broadest sense.
Thingwall has a School Council and Health Promoting School Team where pupil representatives take an active role in helping to ensure the health and well-being of pupils and come up with ideas to help ensure our school meets the needs of all pupils. We have full national Health Promoting status and the local authority have given us enhanced status in our promotion of Safety, Sex and Relationships Education and Healthy Eating throughout the school. We are currently working towards our Green Flag Eco-Schools status. We also are the proud owners of the Active Mark, Artsmark Gold (and have been for the past twelve years) and the British Council's International Award all of which recognise the outstanding provision we offer in terms of the arts, physical education, languages and multi-cultural education.
We feel that successful education is enhanced through a strong partnership between home and school. Parents are always welcome in school although it is best to make an appointment if possible.
We are all very proud of our school and would welcome the opportunity to show you round so you can see for yourselves why Thingwall is the great school it is.
Mrs D. L. Evans

💙💛Who lives in a house like this? Y2 have made some amazing habitat models in science today, as part of their unit on habitats. They enjoyed working collaboratively and sharing ideas with each other. They were really pleased with their final microhabitats!💛💙
