We live on a peninsula with water on three sides of land. Can you name the three sides of water? Listen to the song about the Wirral to find out. Can you recognise any local landmarks?
What features make up the Wirral Penninsula?
P.E.
This week in P.E we have been concentrating on chest passes in our throwing and catching games. We have tried to judge the direction, force and speed of the ball so our team mates can catch the ball accurately.
We have played 'hot potato' to quicken the game up.

OUR CLASS ASSEMBLY
The story of the Poppy and the Royal British Legion
Year 2 have been busy remembering our lines for our class assembly on Remembrance Day. We have performed for our families in order to share what we have found out about the Royal British Legion and knowing that it was in Birkenhead Park that the first British Legion began.
MUSIC and HISTORY

The Pop Project came to perform and teach us about the Beatles legacy- we dressed in 1960's outfits to dance along.
P.E.
We look brilliant in our house colours of VIKINGS, ROMANS, SAXONS and NORMANS.
Which team are you in?

P.E. days are TUESDAYS and WEDNESDAYS

This term we are working on our skills in GAMES.
We've been busy practising our throwing and catching with Miss Yardley and testing our hearts with agility games with Mrs Sheridan.
MATHS
We have been busy making 2digit numbers using different apparatus so that if we have to add these numbers in our head, we can partition them into tens and ones, adding the tens first then combining the ones. For example 23= 2 tens and 3 ones or 20 + 3
We've also been practising writing numerals and writing them in words. Watch the videos to help you with your spellings in maths.

ENGLISH
We have had a poetry week to start the term.
We have loved using Shel Silvertein's poem Zebra Question to write our own questions, find synonyms (opposites), describe people or animals in riddles using the kennings style of poetry.
I wonder if you know what and who we have been writing about in class using two word phrases?

We have learned to spot what is the difference between the United Kingdom, Great Britain and the British Isles. It's very confusing but we are learning to remember.
